lyrics
I didn’t say you were the one
You’re the one who left these arms
In favour of a lonely path can’t save you now
The sun will always rise and fall
When darkness hits these lowly hills
Kinda like what we have here
Now the light has gone
With no moon to hope for
I gave it all to you
Everything I could I made
Come true
I gave it all to you
Everything I could I made
Come true
The winter bites more than you could
These heavy limbs are growing strong
The chapters closed its far too long to read
Now the words have gone
With no moon to hope for
I gave it all to you
Everything I could I made
Come true
I gave it all to you
Everything I could I made
Come true
The whole album is otherworldly. The sound qualities make me feel, similar to the first track, underwater. Maybe mermaid pop sounds like this. The honesty and bare-bones sounds are beautiful and I hope she continues to be bored at Grandma's house if it helps keep creating these lovely tunes. 😊 🌊 🎶 eclecticsheep
I haven't cried during the first listen of a pop song in a long time, possibly ever. But Marsh just did it to me. This is deeply moving music. burbnluvr
Eliza's voice reaches deep within a part of you that you forgot was even there. Generally not even the kind of music I listen to much these days, but this voice...reaches beyond genres. There's so much love, heartache, and renewal in these songs and this album has such a depth and story to tell. SuzyQZ
Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
